Kendrick Lamar To Pimp A Butterfly

To Pimp A Butterfly has been awarded by magazines and award shows as the album of the year and personally I agree that it was the greatest album of 2015. Coming off an album that is said to be one of the best hip hop of all time, Good Kid Mad City, Kendrick really had to up his game. Good Kid Mad City changed the rap and TPAB had the same effect on the hip hop community. Kendrick did come with a different approach on this album. He is spreading a message rather then telling a cinematic story as he did with his previous album. This is whole is album jazz on top of more jazz. The track "For free?" is just a jazz band then Kendrick doing a spoke word style of rap over it. Lyrically I had to listen to every word carefully because every word he says is important. I hung to every single word that he said. The main message of this album is racism in America. None of the songs are really mainstream songs that can be played on the radio because once it is played once it doesn't need to be played. Kendrick speaks of the struggle of being an African American man in society. It was very clear what the point of this album as it was stated in every song and the cover art. The album as a whole was produced magnificently. It flowed very well between songs and none of the beats were boring. All of the features on the album were fantastic. Snoop Dogg sounded great even though it has been awhile since he release any real hip hop. This was definitely the album of the year. If there is a hip hop fan who hasn't heard the whole album you need to listen. If there is non-hip hop artist who hasn't heard the whole album you also need to listen. Kendrick Lamar is a lyrical genius who deserves to be called the rapper of this generation.

A Principle to Keep

       A principle to keep is that everyone is society should treat others the way they would like to be treated. Even in apocalyptic times we shouldn't harm others for the greater good of ourselves. Though this can also change depending on the situation. If a person were trying to harm a father and his family the father would obviously try to defend him and his family because the person is not treating them like they would treat themselves. In this situation the father would have to break the principle in order for him and his family to survive. Since people live in a society where this is very unlikely to we should all uphold this principle. Also we shouldn't step on other people in order to better ourselves. Treating others the way you would like to be treated also ties in with the principle of selflessness.
      The principle of selflessness means willing to put the needs or wishes of others before one's own. For example, if a person were to walk down the road, see a homeless person begging for money, and will most likely continue on with their life. Now flip the roles, that person is now homeless and he also wants the same thing as the previous homeless person but he is does not receive because the person just walks past. This example ties in with both principles of being selfless and treating others the way you would like to be treated. A way of being selfless is by giving back, that way all of society can see if they were to live by these principles, people would benefit from their good doing. When a person lives these principles there thought process flips from "ME" to "WE".
   

Thankful for my classmate

          I appreciate my fellow classmate Alex Strong. He is my partner when we do group and he provides well thought answers when we are answering a question. He is easy to work with when we are working together. Outside of class when I forgot to write the homework down he tells me what it was. He has a different perspective to some things then I do and sometimes that really does benefit. Whether it is in group work in class discussion he participates very well. I am thankful to have Alex Strong as a classmate.

What Did Margaret Do?

In my opinio, Margaret killed Francis Macomber on purpose. She had a lot to gain from his death. She would recieve all of his money. Millions of dollars would go go to her in his will. She would be able to find herself a new husband. She had the perfect window of opportunity to start a new life. She saw her husband struggling with the buffalo so she pulls ou the gun ready to uss it. She could say that she meant to save her husband and was trying to kill the buffalo. I believe she was a henpecking wife who was a murderer. In a way she was envious of Macomber. He was good at a lot of things in the U.S. and when brought into a different setting he startef to fail. That is when sje was very loud and talkative. When he began to succeed at hunting she got quieter. She was no longer the beautiful model of there time and Macomber is still in there prime. So yes, I believe hatred and envy drove her to kill her husband

John Proctor: Hero or Stooge?

John Proctor : Hero or Stooge?

   I believe that John Proctor is just a stooge.  Throughout the Crucible John Proctor has had the worse luck. Part of it is his fault because he committed adultery and did things against the religion of the Puritans. He knowingly committed adultery and was caught by his wife. The definition of a hero is a person who is regarded as a model and admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. Sure he confessed when it came the point where he was cornered but he committed the act in the first place. At the end of it he seen as a liar and the butt of the joke, or a stooge, after his Goody Proctor and Abigail said that the lechery had never happened. He even said before they brought in his wife that she would never lie and she did and now he is seen as a fool. So no I do not see him as the hero of the of the story but the man who made the wrong decisions and he wasn't really thinking.

If two groups of different ethnic backgrounds and beliefs moved into the same area would they be able to live in harmony? I believe that it all depends on the situation at hand. For example if the Protestants come to the Native Americans home and try to force there religion onto them there will probably some conflict. But if there is a way to keep piece between the two groups then there won't be conflicts. In the end its human nature for us to cross the line of whose is whose and fight over land. This type of thing has been happening for thousands of years. So I believe as humans are humans there will be a constant struggle between humans over space. There is also an hierarchy in society that we don't really see but it is really present. Take America for example, we believe we are the biggest and most bad country in the world. So we will march into a country and say that we are obligated to take this country since we are the best. That you could say has something to with not getting along over space. Here's another example, China, Russia, and the U.S. all find out that there is a new piece of land off the coast of the Atlantic,  now its a race to get there first and once all them arrive they probably wont shake hands and say we are all going to own this land. There will probably a war between the three countries for the land. Again, as long as we are human we won't share the land.
